Mint Imperials

So who makes the best mint imperials? I am on a mission to find out.

Not too sure where the new obsession with these bags of mints but they have been a feature on my desk for a couple of months now.

So if you are wondering what are my findings so far…

Tesco own brand are my current favourites. They have a good minty flavour and they become satisfyingly crumbly when they are sucked so you can scrap a dent in them with an incisor tooth. They are pretty much what I expect good mint imperial to be.

Sainsbury own brand are almost as good as Tesco but are not quite such a good texture.

Marks and Spenser, I expect good things from these and I was disappoint, they go strangle sticky after being sucked but do have a good crunch.

Waitrose own brand are currently bottom on my leader board. They are wrong, just wrong and some of my colleagues agree. Sticky, not minty enough and not crumbly are sucking, I haven’t even finished the bag. What a disappointing mint they are.

So will any other brands beat Tesco to the top of my mint imperials list? We will have to sample and see.
